Abstract

The percentage of poor people in 2023 is 4.11 percent, a decrease of 0.43 percentage points compared to 2022. The number of poor people in Bontang Municipality in 2023 is 7.71 thousand people, a decrease of 0.68 thousand people compared to 2022.

In 2023, the Poverty Line (GK) for Bontang Municipality will be at the level of IDR 763,661.00 per capita per month or an increase of around IDR 66,335.00 compared to the Poverty Line in 2022 at the level of IDR 697,326.00 per capita per month. Residents with monthly per capita expenditure below the Poverty Line are said to be poor, meaning that 4.11 percent of Bontang Municipality residents have an average monthly expenditure of less than IDR 763,661.00.

The average gap between poor people's expenditure to the Poverty Line has increased compared to the previous year. This is reflected in the Poverty Depth Index (P1) for Bontang Municipality in 2022 of 0.37, increasing by 0.02 points in 2023 to 0.39.

Expenditure inequality among the poor in Bontang Municipality was recorded as stagnant, as indicated by the absence of changes in the Poverty Severity Index (P2). In 2023 and 2022 the P2 figure for Bontang Municipality will be 0.05.
