Abstract

The percentage of poor people in 2022 is 4.54 percent, a decrease of 0.08 percentage points compared to 2021. The number of poor people in Bontang Municipality in 2022 is 8.39 thousand people, a decrease of 0.02 thousand people compared to 2021.

In 2022, the Poverty Line (GK) of Bontang Municipality will be at the level of IDR 697,326.00 per capita per month or an increase of around IDR 31,754.00 compared to the Poverty Line in 2021 at the level of IDR 665,572.00 per capita per month. Residents with per capita spending per month below the poverty line are said to be poor, meaning that 4.54 percent of the population of Bontang Municipality have an average monthly expenditure of less than IDR 697,326.00.

The average expenditure gap of the poor towards the poverty line has decreased compared to the previous year. This is reflected in the Poverty Depth Index (P1) for Bontang Municipality in 2021 of 0.47, decreasing by 0.10 points in 2022 to 0.37.

The expenditure disparity among the poor in Bontang Municipality has narrowed, as indicated by a decrease in the Poverty Severity Index (P2). In 2022 the P2 rate for Bontang Municipality is 0.05 or a decrease of 0.03 points compared to the situation in 2021 of 0.08.
