Abstract

The number of workers in Bontang Municipality in August 2024 was 93,930 people, down 993 people compared to August 2024. In line with the decrease in the number of workers, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) decreased by 0.60 percentage points to 67.75 percent.

The open unemployment rate (TPT) in Bontang Municipality in August 2024 was 7.06 percent, down 0.68 percentage points compared to August 2023.

The working population in Bontang Municipality was 87,299 people, down 276 people from August 2023. The 3 categories of employment that experienced the largest increase in the number of workers were the Service Sector (1.04 thousand people). Meanwhile, the employment sector that experienced the largest decrease was the Agriculture Sector (1.06 thousand people).

A total of 59,393 people (68.03 percent) worked in formal activities, down 0.85 percentage points compared to August 2023.
