Abstract

The total workforce in Bontang Municipality in August 2022 was 99,150 people, an increase of 9,079 people compared to August 2021. In line with the increase in the total workforce, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 5.45 percentage points to 72.08 percent.

The open unemployment rate (TPT) in Bontang Municipality in August 2022 was 7.81 percent, down 2.11 percentage points compared to August 2021.

The population working in Bontang Municipality is 91,408 people, an increase of 10,272 people from August 2021. The 3 categories of employment that experienced the largest increase in the number of workers were the Manufacturing Sector (274 people). Meanwhile, employment that experienced the largest decline was in the agricultural sector (2.16 thousand people).

As many as 59,343 people (64.92 percent) work in formal activities, down 0.86 percentage points compared to August 2021.
