Abstract

The export value of Kalimantan Timur  Province in August 2024 was recorded at US$2,048.06 million, or an increase of 1.18 compared to July 2024.
  • Oil and gas exports in August 2024 were recorded at US$119.80 million, or a decrease of 34.07 percent compared to July 2024. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports were recorded at US$1,928.26 million, or an increase of 4.65 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of Kalimantan Timur Province during January–August 2024 was recorded at US$16,228.70 million, or down 13.17 percent compared to the same period in 2023.   
  • Based on goods category, the largest increase in the value of non-oil and gas exports in August 2024 compared to July 2024 occurred in the mineral fuel goods category, which increased by US$90.30 million (6.02 percent). On the other hand, the deepest decline in value occurred in the category of machinery and mechanical equipment and their parts amounting to US28.08 million (37.83 percent).
  • Judging from its role in total non-oil and gas imports in the January–August 2024 period, the largest contribution from countries of origin is dominated by China at US$259.55 million with a role of 28.51 percent, followed by the United States at US$136.86 million with a role of 15.03 percent, and Germany amounted to US$74.15 million with a role of 8.14 percent
  • According to the goods usage category, in August 2024 the capital goods category experienced the highest increase of 62.29 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the raw/auxiliary material goods category experienced an increase of 16.20 percent. On the other hand, the consumer goods category experienced a decline of 53.80 percent.
  • The trade balance of Kalimantan Timur Province in August 2024 experienced a surplus of US$1,606.46 million. The trade balance in the non-oil and gas sector recorded a surplus of US$1,775.38 million, whereas the oil and gas sector recorded a deficit of US$168.92 million.
