Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in East Kalimantan Province amounted to 2.18 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 2.58 percent

Abstract

In July 2024 there was year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Kalimantan Timur Province of 2.18 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.76. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 2.58 percent with a CPI of 106.76 and the lowest occurred in North Penajam Paser Regency at 1.71 percent with a CPI of 106.30.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by the increase in most expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.68 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 1.90 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.40 percent; the health group by 4.87 percent; the transportation group by 0.61 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 1.89 percent; the education group by 1.13 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 1.16 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 4.54 percent. Conversely, there are two expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index, namely: the group of supplies, equipment and routine maintenance of households and the information, communication and financial services group each by 0.36 percent.
- On a month to month basis (m-to-m), there was a decrease in the price index (deflation) in July 2024 by 0.38 percent. Meanwhile, on a year to date (y-to-d) basis, in July 2024 there was inflation of 1.31 percent.
