Abstract

  • The increase in NTP was caused by the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) increasing by 1.72 percent, while the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) only increased by 0.11 percent.
  • In February 2024, the NTP for each subsector is as follows: Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Food Crops (NTPP) is 104.96; Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Horticulture Crops (NTPH) is 114.07; Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Smallholders Estate Crops (NTPR) is 175.58; Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Animal Husbandry (NTPT) is 104.61; and Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Fishery (NTNP) is 99.88.
  • In February 2024, there were four subsectors that experienced an increase in NTP: the food crops subsector (1.24 percent), the horticulture subsector (1.55 percent), the smallholders estate crops subsector (2.38 percent), and the fisheries subsector (1.57 percent). On the other hand, one subsector experienced a decline: the animal husbandry subsector (-1.36 percent).
  • Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) in February 2024 was 136.65 or an increase of 1.59 percent compared to the NTUP in January 2024 which was recorded at 134.52. There were four subsectors that experienced an increase in NTUP: the food crops subsector (0.94 percent), the horticulture subsector (1.58 percent), smallholders estate crops subsector (2.49 percent), and the fisheries subsector (1.64 percent). On the other hand, one subsector experienced a decrease in NTUP: the animal husbandry subsector (-1.43 percent)
