Abstract

The increase in the HDI for Bontang Municipality in 2023 will occur in all dimensions, including the dimension of longevity and healthy living, the dimension of knowledge, and the dimension of decent living standards.

In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2023 have the hope of living up to 74.81 years, an increase of 0.12 years compared to those born in the previous year. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses the results of the Long Form SP2020 (SP2020LF).

In the knowledge dimension, the expected length of schooling (HLS) for the population aged 7 increased 0.25 years compared to the previous year to 13.43 years or almost equivalent to the length of time to complete education up to Diploma I level. Meanwhile, the average length of schooling (RLS ) population aged 25 years and over increased by 0.11 years, from 10.81 years to 10.92 years in 2023. The HLS and RLS data sources use the March Susenas results.

The dimensions of a decent standard of living are measured based on the average real expenditure per capita (adjusted). In 2023, the average real per capita expenditure in Bontang City will be 17,659 million Rupiah, an increase of 332 thousand rupiah (1.92 percent) compared to the previous year.
