Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) October 2023 was 129.23, which is an increase of 0.35 percent compared to NTP in September 2023.

Abstract

The increase in NTP is due the index of prices received by farmers (It)), which increased by 0.88 percent, while the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib)only increased by 0.52 percent.

In October 2023, the NTP for each subsector is as follows: Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Food Crops (NTPP) is 100.35; Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Horticulture Crops (NTPH) is 112.80; Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Smallholders Estate Crops (NTPR) is 165.71; Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Animal Husbandry (NTPT) is 108.63; and Farmers’ Terms of Trade for Fishery (NTNP) is 99.79.

In October 2023, there are three subsectors that experienced an increase in NTP: the horticulture subsector (0.44 percent), the smallholders estate crops subsector (0.33 percent), and Animal Husbandry subsector (1.36 percent). On the other hand, two other subsectors experienced a decrease: the food crops subsector (-0.05 percent) and the fisheries subsector (-0.27 percent).

Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) in October 2023 is 130.44, an increase of 0.76 percent compared to NTUP in September 2023, which was recorded at 129.47. There are four subsectors that experienced an increase in NTUP: the food crops subsector (0.29 percent), the horticulture subsector (0.93 percent), the smallholders estate crops subsector (0.74 percent), and the Animal Husbandry subsector (1.94 percent). Meanwhile, the fisheries subsector did not experience any change.
