During July 2022, there was an inflation of 0.62 percent in Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

In July 2022, of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kendari at 2.27 percent. For the lowest inflation of 0.04 percent occurred in Pematang Siantar and Tanjung.
Kalimantan Timur Province (Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality Combined) in July 2022 saw inflation of 0.62 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 4.15 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 5.05 percent.
In July 2022 there was inflation for Samarinda Municipality of 0.52 percent and in Balikpapan Municipality there was also inflation of 0.73 percent.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in several indexes of expenditure groups, namely: the education group by 1.31 percent; followed by the transportation group by 1.20 percent; food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.06 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.49 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups by 0.41 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.34 percent; health group by 0.18 percent; then the food and beverage/restaurant supply group with inflation of 0.03 percent; and the group of equipment, tools, and routine household maintenance by 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decline in the index in July were clothing and footwear by -0.06 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by -0.05 percent.
