Abstract

The economy of Bontang Municipality in 2021 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at Current Prices reached 57.95 trillion rupiah and at constant prices reached 39.95 trillion rupiah.

With this amount, the economy of Bontang Municipality in 2021 was recorded to grow 1.60 percent compared to the achievement in 2020. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field which grew by 14.16 percent.

The economic structure of Bontang Municipality is dominated by 4 (four) business fields, namely the Processing Industry Business Field with a role of 79.41 percent, the Construction Business Field with a role of 6.49 percent. Wholesale and Retail Trade Business Fields; Car and Motorcycle Repair with a role of 3.31 percent, and the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field with a role of 1.66 percent.

Bontang Municipality's economic growth in 2021 will grow by 1.60 percent. In terms of GRDP according to business fields, growth in 2021 will be driven by the Manufacturing Industry business sector which grew by 1.62 percent compared to 2020. The Construction business sector increased by 0.06 percent compared to 2020, and several sectors experienced positive growth so that this This can increase the value of GRDP at constant prices growth in Bontang Municipality.

In the regional scope, the GRDP of Bontang Municipality in 2021 will contribute 8.34 percent to the GRDP of the Province of East Kalimantan.
