Abstract

The export value of Kalimantan Timur Province in September 2024 was recorded at USD 1,632.91 million, a decrease of 20.27% compared to August 2024. 
  • Cumulatively, the export value of Kalimantan Timur Province from January to September 2024 reached USD 17,861.60 million, a decrease of 13.30% compared to the same period in 2023.
  • During the period from January to September 2024, China was the main export destination, accounting for USD 5,752.09 million (35.43%), followed by India with USD 2,674.59 million (16.47%), and the Philippines with USD 1,461.51 million (9.00%).
  • The three ports contributing the most to the total export value of Kalimantan Timur Province in September 2024 were Port of Samarinda (USD 483.94 million), Port of Balikpapan (USD 472.52 million), and Port of Tanjung Bara (USD 288.11 million).
  • Oil and gas imports were valued at USD 274.74 million, a decrease of 4.84% compared to August 2024. In contrast, non-oil and gas imports in September 2024 amounted to USD 160.94 million, an increase of 5.27%.
  • In terms of origin countries for non-oil and gas imports from January to September 2024, China dominated with a contribution of USD 333.47 million (31.13%), followed by the United States with USD 151.29 million (14.12%), and Germany with USD 80.20 million (7.48%).
  • The trade balance of Kalimantan Timur Province in September 2024 recorded a surplus of USD 1,197.23 million. The non-oil and gas trade balance showed a surplus of USD 1,357.55 million, while the oil and gas sector recorded a deficit of USD 160.32 million.
