Abstract

  • The decline in NTP was caused by the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) which fell by 0.59 percent, while the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) increased by 0.04 percent.
  • July 2023 NTP for each sub-sector: Food Crop Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPP) of 98.76; Horticultural Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPH) of 107.00; The Smallholder Plantation Plantation Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPR) was 155.70; Livestock Farmer Exchange Rate (NTPT) of 110.66; and Fishermen and Fish Farmers Exchange Rate (NTNP) of 101.89.
  • In July 2023, there were two sub-sectors that experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops sub-sector (1.30 percent) and the fisheries sub-sector (0.63 percent). In contrast, three other sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the horticulture sub-sector (-3.93 percent), the smallholder plantation sub-sector (-0.97 percent), and the livestock sub-sector (-0.21 percent).
  • The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for July 2023 was 125.98, down 0.71 percent compared to the NTUP in June 2023 which was recorded at 126.88. There were two sub-sectors that experienced an increase in NTUP, namely the food crops sub-sector (1.21 percent) and the fisheries sub-sector (0.57 percent). In contrast, three other sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the horticulture sub-sector (-3.92 percent), the smallholder plantation sub-sector (-1.03 percent), and the livestock sub-sector (-0.46 percent).
