Abstract

  • The decline in NTP was caused by the Price Index Received by Farmers (It) which fell by 1.47 percent, while the Price Index Paid by Farmers (Ib) increased by 0.35 percent.
  • June 2023 NTP in each sub-sector: Food Crop Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPP) of 97.49; Horticultural Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPH) of 111.37; The Smallholder Plantation Plantation Farmers Exchange Rate (NTPR) was 157.22; Livestock Farmer Exchange Rate (NTPT) of 110.90; and Fishermen and Fish Farmers Exchange Rate (NTNP) of 101.25.
  • In June 2023, there were three sub-sectors that experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops sub-sector (1.87 percent), the livestock sub-sector (2.56 percent), and the fisheries sub-sector (0.62 percent). In contrast, two other sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the horticulture sub-sector (-1.68 percent) and the smallholder plantation sub-sector (-4.46 percent).
  • The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for June 2023 was 126.88, down 1.53 percent compared to the NTUP in May 2023 which was recorded at 128.85. There were three sub-sectors that experienced an increase in NTUP, namely the food crops sub-sector (2.28 percent), the livestock sub-sector (2.55 percent), and the fisheries sub-sector (1.11 percent). In contrast, two other sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the horticulture sub-sector (-1.38 percent) and the smallholder plantation sub-sector (-4.20 percent).
