Abstract

  • Kalimantan Timur's export value in November 2022 was recorded at US$3.12 billion, down 4.11 percent compared to October 2022 exports. Compared to November 2021, the export value increased by 5.57%.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in November 2022 were recorded at US$2.88 billion, down 4.41 percent compared to October 2022.
  • Cumulatively, the value of Kalimantan Timur's oil and gas exports from January to November 2022 reached US$2.57 billion, up 81.38 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports reached US$30.42 million, up 48.84 percent.
  • In terms of value, the largest decline in non-oil and gas exports in November 2022 compared to October 2022 occurred in the fat and oil goods category, which fell US$47.90 million (20.54 percent), while the largest increase occurred in the tobacco goods category, which increased US$2.67 million (83 .47 percent).
  • By sector, non-oil and gas exports from January to November 2022 have increased compared to the same period last year. Mining products increased by 57.82 percent, industrial products increased by 15.68 percent and exports of agricultural products increased by 46.13 percent.
  • The destination country with the largest non-oil and gas export value in November 2022 was to China with a value of US$988.57 million, followed by Japan with US$426.83 million and the Philippines with US$300.04 million, with the contribution of the three of them reaching 59.49 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union amounted to US$551.66 million and US$48.16 million, respectively.
  • According to the port of origin of goods, Kalimantan Timur's largest exports in January-November 2022 came from the Port of Samarinda with a value of US$9.05 billion (27.44 percent), followed by the Port of Balikpapan with US$7.05 billion (21.36 percent) and the Port of Tanjung Bara amounting to US$5.92 billion (17.94 percent)
  • Kalimantan Timur's import value in November 2022 was recorded at US$536.83 million, down 8.25 percent compared to October 2022's import value. When compared to November 2021's import value, it experienced an increase of 109.36 percent.
  • Oil and gas imports in November 2022 were valued at US$369.17 million, down 11.50 percent compared to October 2022 imports, while compared to November 2021 imports, they experienced an increase of 172.76 percent
  • Non-oil and gas imports in November 2022 were valued at US$167.65 million, down 0.16 percent compared to the import value in October 2022, while when compared to the November 2021 import value, it experienced an increase of 38.48 percent.
  • The biggest increase in the import value of non-oil and gas goods in November 2022 compared to October 2022 was in the fertilizer goods category which increased by US$47.11 million. On the other hand, the biggest decline in import value was in the category of machine goods and mechanical equipment which experienced a decrease of US$22.88 million.
  • The three largest suppliers of non-oil and gas imported goods during January-November 2022 were China US$247.39 million (15.45 percent), South Korea US$228.50 million (14.27 percent), and the United States US$222.14 million (13 .87 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from ASEAN amounted to US$166.64 million (10.41 percent) and the European Union amounted to US$303.36 million (18.94 percent).
  • According to the category of goods used, the value of imports from January to November 2022 compared to the same period the previous year saw an increase in the value of raw/auxiliary materials by US$2,361.52 million (124.17 percent), consumer goods increased by US$0.99 million (6.40 percent) but capital goods fell by US$96.56 million (14.99 percent).
  • Kalimantan Timur's trade balance in November 2022 experienced a surplus of US$2.58 billion. The non-oil and gas sector had a surplus of US$2.71 billion. Meanwhile, in the oil and gas sector, the deficit was US$130.69 million.
