Abstract

  • In June 2022, of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, 85 cities experienced inflation and 5 other cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Gunungsitoli at 2.72 percent and the lowest at 0.07 percent occurred in Pontianak. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kendari at -0.61 percent and the lowest at -0.03 percent occurred in Tanjung Pandan
  • Kalimantan Timur Province (Combination of Samarinda City and Balikpapan City) in June 2022 there was inflation of 0.47 percent with a calendar year inflation rate of 3.51 percent and a year-on-year inflation rate of 4.38 percent.
  • In June 2022 there was inflation for Samarinda City of 0.42 percent and in Balikpapan City there was also inflation of 0.53 percent.
  • Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in several indexes of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco by 1.35 percent; followed by the transportation group by 0.66 percent; household equipment, equipment, and routine maintenance group by 0.52 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.33 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.18 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group with inflation of 0.15 percent; then the education group and the health group each experienced inflation of 0.10 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decrease in index in June were clothing and footwear by -0.34 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by -0.17 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group by -0.04 percent.
