Thursday, January 24th 2019. Our friends from Bontang Department of Agriculture and Babinsa Bontang organize first sub-round of Ubinan survey in Kanaan and Bontang Lestari borough. This time, we observed comodity of lowland rice and peanuts. It is the area which is an Ubinan’s sample from BPS of Bontang City.
Ubinan survey is a survey that organized by the Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) to determine the productivity of food crops such as rice, corn, peanuts, etc. This survey is managed by all BPS’ department in your area. This data is disseminated in the Annual Food-Crops Production publication to complete an annual-three-times publishing of Food-Crops Production, that are Food-Crops Production Forecast Figures, Provisional Food-Crops Production Forecast Figures, and Fixed Food-Crops Production Figures.
The sampling design that used in Ubinan survey is multi stage. The sampling frame that used in first stage of this multi stage is Census Block (BS), and the second stage of this multi stage uses the sampling frame of household. The sampling allocation is designed proportionally based on the harvesting area in the same sub-round last year. The observation unit of this survey was crops farming household that harvested in the sub-round, with the respondent of it are Heads of the Household.
This survey is held by a direct interview and making a plot inside a field that respondents occupied. The charge of this 2.5 x 2.5 metres plot would be harvested and separated between the stems and the milled dry grains (or converted). This survey would be estimated up to the smallest area that ever provided by the national government. Therefore, let’s support the implementation of this survey towards an accurate and reliable data. Be a good respondent to support and achieve these goals.
